ABOUT LEE CHAU LE

Chef Lee Chau Le lives and works in the vibrant area of Spitalfelds in East London, having emigrated from the United States in the 90’s. Lee grew up in a Vietnamese and Chinese family, surrounded by a multi-ethnic community which has shaped him into the chef he is today. This culturally diverse neighbourhood gave Lee the curiosity and ambition to express himself through his food and propel him on his culinary journey 

Motivated to learn more, he began his professional career in the kitchens of the Oxo Tower, Playboy Casino, the Royal Albert Hall and a number of high end asian restaurants, where he developed and honed his skills under the guidance of some of London’s best chefs 

The burgeoning chef was hungry to go out on his own and develop his personal style of food, which has eventually ourished into the Chunky Buddha brand that we recognise today. This has given Lee the exibility to cook on his own terms which means he has catered private events, including weddings, given corporate hospitality a new and exciting product, as well as worked hard to create his own vision of asian 

street food 

Lee started Chunky Buddha street food, cooking at St Katherine’s Dock and soon after was feeding customers all over London. His current long term residency is at Juju’s Bar & Stage in Brick Lane, as well as trading at Old Spital eld’s Market. His corporate clients have included Virgin Lounge, Virgin Unite, WAGGGS and Vodafone and has consulted for other businesses in hospitality. Lee is an extremely conscientious and hard working chef who brings a positive energy to any project he is involved in.
